Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 15 March 2025 · Effective: 15 March 2025
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the website at terataij.info and your participation in any educational programme offered by Teratai Jauhari ("we", "us", "our"), a financial education provider based at Jalan Hang Tuah 19, 75300 Melaka, Malaysia.
By submitting an enquiry, enrolling in a programme, or using our website, you indicate that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or enrol in our programmes.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled participants by email. Continued participation in a programme after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Nature of Our Programmes
Teratai Jauhari provides financial education for adults in their 40s and beyond. Our programmes are designed to improve financial literacy and support informed decision-making. They are educational in nature and do not constitute:
- Financial advice or investment advice regulated under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 (CMSA)
- Licensed financial planning services under the Financial Advisers Act 2002
- Any form of regulated advisory service requiring a licence from the Securities Commission Malaysia or Bank Negara Malaysia
Nothing in our course materials, advisory sessions, or communications should be interpreted as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any specific financial product. Participants are encouraged to consult a licensed financial adviser before making any investment or financial planning decision.
3. Eligibility
Our programmes are intended for adults aged 18 and above. We welcome participants from all backgrounds and do not require any prior formal qualification in finance. Certain programmes are specifically designed for learners in their 40s and 50s, and course content reflects this orientation.
By enrolling, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that the information you provide during enrolment is accurate and complete.
4. Enrolment and Registration
To enrol in a programme, you must complete our registration process and pay the applicable programme fee. Enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment and a written confirmation from us by email.
We reserve the right to limit enrolment numbers for any programme and to decline an application if, in our reasonable judgement, the programme is not suitable for the applicant's circumstances. In such cases, any payment received will be refunded in full.
Please ensure the email address you provide during registration is active, as all programme communications, lesson links, and scheduling information will be sent to that address.
5. Programme Fees and Payment
Programme fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of all applicable taxes unless otherwise noted. Current fees are:
- First Steps Back into Financial Study: RM 690
- Understanding Malaysian Investment Products: RM 1,875
- Planning the Next Twenty-Five Years: RM 3,215
Payment is due in full at the time of enrolment unless we have agreed to an alternative schedule in writing. We accept payment via the methods displayed on our payment page at the time of enrolment.
We reserve the right to adjust programme fees. Any change in fees will not affect participants who have already enrolled and paid for a programme.
6. Cancellations, Transfers and Refunds
Cancellation by Participant
If you wish to cancel your enrolment, please notify us in writing at [email protected]. The following refund schedule applies:
- More than 14 days before programme start: Full refund, less a RM 50 administrative fee.
- 7 to 14 days before programme start: 50% refund of the programme fee.
- Less than 7 days before programme start, or after the programme has begun: No refund is available, though a programme transfer may be arranged (see below).
For programmes that include a printed booklet, the cost of the booklet (RM 45) is non-refundable once the booklet has been dispatched.
Programme Transfer
Subject to availability, you may request a transfer to a later cohort of the same programme. One transfer is permitted per enrolment at no charge, if requested at least 7 days before the programme start date. Subsequent transfers may be subject to an administrative fee of RM 75.
Cancellation by Teratai Jauhari
In the unlikely event that we are required to cancel a programme, enrolled participants will receive a full refund of all fees paid, or the option to transfer to an alternative cohort. We will not be liable for any consequential costs incurred by participants as a result of cancellation.
7. Programme Access and Delivery
Programme materials are made available through our online learning platform or delivered by email, as described in the relevant programme overview. Access to digital materials is personal and non-transferable.
- You may not share your login credentials or course materials with any other person.
- You may not reproduce, redistribute, or publish any course material in any form without our prior written consent.
- Audio materials provided as part of the programme are for your personal use only.
We will make reasonable efforts to maintain uninterrupted access to digital programme materials, but we do not warrant that access will be free of technical interruption. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
8. Advisory Sessions
The Planning the Next Twenty-Five Years programme includes four one-to-one advisory sessions. These sessions are educational in nature and are conducted by a qualified member of our teaching team. They are not a substitute for regulated financial advice.
- Sessions are scheduled by mutual agreement and conducted via video call or, where practical, in person at our Melaka premises.
- A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice will be forfeited unless exceptional circumstances apply.
- Advisory sessions expire 6 months after the programme end date. Unused sessions cannot be refunded or transferred.
9. Participant Conduct
We expect all participants to engage with our programmes in good faith and with respect for other learners and our team. We reserve the right to withdraw a participant from a programme, without refund, if their conduct:
- Is abusive, threatening, or disrespectful toward any member of our team or other participants
- Involves dishonest or fraudulent behaviour in relation to their enrolment or participation
- Involves unauthorised sharing of programme materials or access credentials
- Is otherwise harmful to the integrity of the programme or our organisation
10. Intellectual Property
All course materials, lesson content, audio recordings, workbooks, and documents provided as part of our programmes remain the intellectual property of Teratai Jauhari. Participation in a programme grants you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use these materials for your own learning. No other rights are granted.
The printed welcome booklet provided with the First Steps Back into Financial Study programme is yours to keep for personal reference. It may not be photocopied or redistributed without our written consent.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Teratai Jauhari's total liability to any participant arising out of or in connection with these terms or a programme shall not exceed the programme fee paid by that participant.
We are not liable for:
- Any financial loss or outcome resulting from a participant's application of knowledge gained from our programmes
- Any decision made by a participant in relation to their personal finances, investments, or retirement planning
- Indirect or consequential losses of any kind
- Technical failures beyond our reasonable control
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot lawfully be excluded under Malaysian law.
12. Privacy and Data
Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms and conditions. By enrolling in a programme, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
